It’s been two weeks now since I left Philippines. I miss the fun and the great time I spent with my family, friends and relatives there. It was such a wonderful moment spending quality time with them. Taking a a vacation also means going out for dinner or buffet, or maybe simply strolling and shopping in the mall. The picture below was taken inside Ayala mall, one of the biggest shopping mall in Cebu City. That is Shakey’s on the picture where you can eat yummy pizza. I guess that’s all for now. I wish everyone a great start of the month of March! take care guys!

Just a Reminder, Nice One!

Good Morning! I believed it is a good thing starting to share this very nice sharing this morning! Have a blessed day!

The Perfect Mold

“If the virtuous man turns from the path of virtue to do evil… None of his virtuous deeds shall be remembered, because he has broken faith and committed sin.” – Ezekiel 18:24

There are some Christians who do good to atone for something bad they have done. Some rich people donate “generously” to somewhat assuage their guilt for whatever iniquities they have committed. Businessmen cheat on their taxes so that they can “help” more people through employment. These Christians believe that entering heaven is like passing the test at the weighing scale of justice. By doing more good deeds than bad, they think they will earn the right to enter. Doing good things is always virtuous; but doing it for the sake of covering up for something sinful is not in God’s book of standards.

When we manufacture our paper bags, the machine would sometimes produce some that are substandard. What we do is re-make these bags by hand. Otherwise, they will be rejected and thrown to the recycling pit. If we let God’s hands mold us according to His standards, not ours, then our entry to heaven is assured.

REFLECTION:
Who is leading you? Is it the Good Shepherd or yourself?

Father, You are the potter and I am the clay. Mold me and fashion me according to Your will.

Not Another Shoulder Pain

If not back pain, I always experience shoulder pain. Sorry guys, I am complaining again but sometimes it is just not good. I mean I can’t sleep at night due to the pain. Sometimes I am making a massage to it so that I feel better. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Sometimes I just fall asleep bearing the pain. I hope I can totally get rid of this problem. I stumbled at spine surgery Mexico and found a lot of information about back pains and other medical treatments of different sickness and health problems. I am just reading for some helpful information about my back and shoulder pains. I was browsing more in this site and also found out about weight loss programs. It is quite interesting. I believed I am free today of any pain. I hope you too! Cheers! Have a great day!

Waiting for Home Appliance Delivery

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a great day today. I will just give you a short update before I will start cooking for lunch. I just went down to check outside if there are are mails coming in our mailbox. I also heard that somebody knocked on our door so I decided to go down and check it. I am not expecting for industrial supplies to be delivered in our house but I am waiting for our washing to be delivered. My laundry is already piling right now. It is around a week and a half that we were not able to wash dirty clothing and bedding because our washing just retired last week. I guess I had written a story about this in my WWW Addict site. It’s time to prepare for lunch. Have a great day!

Love This Orchid and the Quote

“O Prince of Peace, keep us, we pray,
From strife and enmity;
Help us to speak with loving words
That calm hostility.”- Branon

A very beautiful kind of orchid. I took this picture last week as we visited a garden shop nearby.

I love this peaceful place called Ginatilan in South Cebu. My Philippine vacation is over. What I had now are pictures to remember the places I visited there. This is Inambakan Falls in Ginatilan, Cebu. If I am not mistaken this falls is around 32 meters high. Such beauty of nature is very amazing!

Daily Bible Reflections

We should always be on the lookout for those who are unable to care for themselves. These are the Anawim or Little Ones of God. If we do not care for them, who will? If we do not care for them, then we will be judged on this lack of love and care for our brothers and sisters in need (see also the Parable of the Sheep and Goats in Matthew 25).

Isaiah 58:9b-14
9 Thus says the LORD: If you remove from your midst oppression, false accusation and malicious speech; 10 if you bestow your bread on the hungry and satisfy the afflicted; then light shall rise for you in the darkness, and the gloom shall become for you like midday; 11 then the LORD will guide you always and give you plenty even on the parched land. He will renew your strength, and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring whose water never fails. 12 The ancient ruins shall be rebuilt for your sake, and the foundations from ages past you shall raise up; “Repairer of the breach,” they shall call you, “Restorer of ruined homesteads.” 13 If you hold back your foot on the sabbath from following your own pursuits on my holy day; if you call the sabbath a delight, and the LORD’s holy day honorable; if you honor it by not following your ways, seeking your own interests, or speaking with malice — 14 Then you shall delight in the LORD, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; I will nourish you with the heritage of Jacob, your father, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.

P S A L M

Psalm 86:1-2, 3-4, 5-6
R: Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth.
1 Incline your ear, O LORD; answer me, for I am afflicted and poor. 2 Keep my life, for I am devoted to you; save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God. (R) 3 Have mercy on me, O Lord, for to you I call all the day. 4 Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. (R) 5 For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in kindness to all who call upon you. 6 Hearken, O LORD, to my prayer and attend to the sound of my pleading. (R)

G O S P E L
Jesus never gives up on anyone. He always has hope that His grace can change a person’s life and bring him to repentance and conversion. Levi, the tax collector, would have been considered a hopeless case by the Jews. He was a traitor and collaborator with an occupying power and, on top of that, was corrupt and self-serving. There was no hope for him. But Jesus chooses him to be a disciple. Let us never lose hope that anyone is beyond conversion.

Luke 5:27-32
27 Jesus saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the customs post. He said to him, “Follow me.” 28 And leaving everything behind, he got up and followed him. 29 Then Levi gave a great banquet for him in his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were at table with them. 30 The Pharisees and their scribes complained to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” 31 Jesus said to them in reply, “Those who are healthy do not need a physician, but the sick do. 32 I have not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners.”
