Got A Message

I just got a message from my sister in Dallas, Texas. I am happy that I was able to hear from her after more than a month of not seeing her. She is thousand miles away from me. The last time I saw her was in Ninoy Aquino International Airport last January 13, 2010. She told me to look at her profile in friendster because she already uploaded some of her pictures. I noticed that she still have a lot of pimples, I mean acne. I am not very sure if she already found some good acne skin products. I guess not. I will try to remind her to browse over the internet so that she can totally eliminate her acne. Pity to my dear sister. I miss you and I hope to see you soon. Take care dear sister!

Glide

I just read this very beautiful story awhile ago. I wish to also share it to all of you before I delete it in my inbox. How I wish I can always glide! Peace!

Glide

Jogging is a world of experience by itself.

After 3 miles or so, I felt a pain in my left leg.

Not a major pain, it just felt like the beginning of a cramp.

I began to limp. I didn’t want to put any excess pressure on the leg because I had over three miles to go even if I turned around and headed straight back, and I wasn’t at the halfway
point yet.

Something said, “Glide.”

Glide?

I began to notice how I was running with the limping action. My gait was uneven. It was awkward. I didn’t know the exact kinetics, but I knew the un-rhythmic motion was putting additional strain on my leg muscles.

So I began to glide.

I focused on running smoothly.
I let my feet touch the pavement as light as possible.
Like a swan skimming over a lake, I concentrated to make each step as graceful as possible.

Within a minute, my left leg felt fine.

It was a MountainWings Moment.

Often when pain hits us, we lose our grace and become awkward.

We shuffle, stumble, bumble, weave, wobble, hobble, and stagger.

If we just glide and stay smooth, often the pain goes away, because the rough motion makes it worse, not better.

Someone criticizes us. . . OUCH!
We shuffle, stumble, bumble, weave, wobble, hobble, and stagger.

Someone offends us. . . OUCH!
We shuffle, stumble, bumble, weave, wobble, hobble, and stagger.

Someone has a difference of opinion. . . OUCH!
We shuffle, stumble, bumble, weave, wobble, hobble, and stagger.

Someone doesn’t respond the way we think they should. . . OUCH!
We shuffle, stumble, bumble, weave, wobble, hobble, and stagger.

Instead of maintaining our peace, the smooth gait, we become frustrated. That makes the pain worse, not better.

Instead of forgiving and forgetting, we retaliate and remember.
That often makes the pain worse.

Many of life’s pains would go away if we’d just learn to glide.
Yes, it hurts, but the shuffling and stumbling usually doesn’t help.

While jogging (or with any exercise) if pain starts, it’s usually wise to just stop. This was more a spiritual revelation yet, it applied to physical things.

If we can keep our movements, thoughts, emotions, and spirit smooth, that often takes us right over the rough things.

HB Was Happy

I just arrived yesterday from a very long vacation in the Philippines. Dear HB picked me up at Munich Airport. He can’t stop shading his tears as he saw me. It was the first time that I was away from him since we got married. I was truly touch as he handed me a rose for Valentines Day and some chocolates too. I am also very happy to be with him once again. I showed him some pictures of our house in Cebu province which also made him very happy. I also bought some furniture for the house. I wish to find beautiful patio cushions later in our next vacation. I hope that dear HB can go with me hopefully next year for another vacation. For now I am still adjusting the very cold weather here in Germany. The snow outside is very high especially in our pathway. My husband’s car was even covered with snow. He used my car while I am away. I miss driving already. I am also happy to spent V-day with my loving husband. I am truly blessed. Thanks God for all the blessings in my life.

Belated V-Day and TF Day and th Lovely White Flower

First of all I would like to greet a belated Valentines Day or Love Day to all friends out there! I hope you had a great one. I am happy to spend the Hearts Day with my dear husband after having a very long vacation in my home country. I guess I am back also for the memes that I miss so much. Here is my TF entry. Better Late Than Never! I took this picture near the church in Minglanilla, Cebu City in the Philippines. Sorry guys, I don’t know the name of the flower. Any idea? I miss you all! I hope to visit you soon once I will feel better. I am a little bit sick and now in the process of adjusting the weather here in cold Europe.

Click the logo, feel free to join and see the beauty of flowers from all over the world. Special appreciation to Luiz and the TF team for this very wonderful meme. Happy TF day!

Lovely Scenery

I love this place! That is also the reason why I want to share this lovely scenery. I just remember when my younger brother was talking to our sister from Las Vegas asking about led tv. He said that life in this place will be more lovely when he can watch movies and programs in a nice TV. Sorry, I can’t afford it right now. I still need more finances for the house improvement. Maybe next year when finances will be better. For now, just enjoy watching this lovely scenery! Have a wonderful weekend too!

Granted..Nice Quote!

Granted

Most human beings have an almost infinite capacity
for taking things for granted.

~Aldous Huxley~

The scenery I always see everyday when I look at the window of our house somewhere in Cebu Province, Philippines. I will surely miss this place when I go back to Europe. Always remember not to take things for granted especially the persons you value and love. My one last wish when I go back to Europe is to buy a new HD camcorder. I wish to have it as Valentines gift from dear HB. I miss you all. I will visit you soon when I will be backed to Europe. Have a great weekend too!

Need To Visit a Dentist

I am almost going back to Europe but I still did not have the time to visit a dentist here in the Philippines. There are things that need to be done in my teeth and doing it in Europe is very expensive. I remember during my vacation last 2006 wherein, a dentist fixed one bad tooth of mine. It was made permanent and only cost around 100 Euros. In Germany, it might already cost around 400 Euros which I found very expensive. I wish to visit a dental clinic here before I go back to Europe. Are you surfing about Orange NJ dental implants? I guess I can’t visit their clinic. I am thousands of miles away from it. More updates in my other blogs. Have a wonderful day!

Nice Words To Share

These are very nice words that were forwarded in my inbox. Thanks to Kyregma for this one. Keep reading below! Have a blessed day!

LET US BE FOCUSED ON THE THINGS THAT MATTER

One of the first tactics of the devil is to try to distract us from the things that should be the foci of our life. If he can achieve this goal, he will have succeeded in neutralizing our impact in bringing the Gospel to others. This means that the Church’s mission will be blunted and bringing back humanity to its proper place of submission to the will of God will be delayed.

There is an urgency to proclaim the Gospel and to proclaim it in truth without any accretions that take away from its power to save. The Gospel stands in judgment over the world and its various cultures. The Gospel does not have to adapt its truths to the cultures in which it is being proclaimed. It must be proclaimed in truth and all that is in a particular culture that is not in conformity to that truth must go. Yes, we adapt the manner of proclaiming the Gospel to the individual culture, but never the content of the Gospel.

Sociologists, anthropologists and many others will defend the primacy of culture over and against the Gospel, but they are wrong. The truth of the Gospel is not open to debate; it is not open to alteration in the name of cultural sensitivity. If we fail to be clear about the truth of the Gospel when we proclaim it, we do a disservice to those who hear it and we become at least partially responsible for their errors. I’m sure none of us want to be responsible for the errors of others so we had better heed the call to both live and proclaim the Gospel faithfully in response to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Yes, we must always seek to understand different cultures, but we must also be willing to call to conversion various aspects of the cultures in which we work. Otherwise, we will condemn ourselves to an exercise in futility because unless the Gospel is proclaimed in its fullness, it will not be able to establish itself in the lives of those who hear it. Our task of proclaiming the Gospel to the ends of the earth will never be completed. Fr. Steve Tynan, MGL

Reflection Question:
Do I tend to let slide certain culturally accepted aspects of my life even though I know they are contrary to the Gospel? If so, it is time I did something about it.

Jesus, You proclaimed the truth whether it made You popular or not. Help me to do the same and so be faithful to You.

St. Branwallader, pray for us.

Home Improvement is still Going On

I have another update for today. There are some home improvements that we are currently doing in our house here in Cebu Province. We are now building a bigger terrace facing the sea. It is quite an expensive construction where the money that I will normally use for sightseeing around the islands of Philippines is being use. I am also looking for discount shades where I am planning to put in one of our windows. I am trying to look for the shades that are cheaper but nice and durable. I am also broke right now. wink! I hope I can still go in some sights in the Philippines before I go home to Europe next month. Take care guys and have a great day!

Balikbayan Boxes were Here

We finally received the last two balikbayan boxes that I sent last November 2009 before I flew to the Philippines for vacation. The stuffs that I put inside the last two boxes were mostly household decors. There are also a lot of multiple vitamin for my parents, brothers and sisters. One of my brother who don’t take vitamins finally decided to take one everyday. I guess I need one too? We all know that vitamins are always good for our body. I believed taking one everyday will help us prevent from sickness. I guess the next time, I will send balikbayan boxes will be next year. I will see. take care guys. I need to slowly sign-off.
