Egyptian astronomers say their use of technology to look for the crescent moon signaling the start of Ramadan is still fulfilling tradition.

The government scientists are repeating a 1,400-year tradition using modern technology to refine a religious question, The Washington Post reported Sunday.

The Muslim world’s most holy month, which includes fasting and other rituals, cannot begin until the crescent moon is observed, according to teachings of the prophet Muhammad. Its spotting has become an important matter of science and competition around the world.

“This night of witness is extremely important for we Muslims. It is the night that unifies us all,” said cleric and astronomer Abdul Monim al-Berri, looking through a telescope in a Cairo parking lot Saturday.

Technology also has allowed precise tracking of the moon and the sun so astronomers can know in advance that the crescent moon will not be visible in the Middle East sooner than Sunday night. But the search must continue. The 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference even once went so far as to propose launching of a satellite simply to look for the Ramadan moon.

How was the beginning of your month?? I hope it is just fine and perfect. I usually post in this blog about my daily nourishment which means are things or words that inspires me. Some of these also include quotes and sayings, inspirational stories, Bible verses, personal experiences and anything that gives inspirations or lessons. Nourishment can also mean something that nourishes like food or nutrients. This time I will be talking some sort of nourishment according to the last meaning I mentioned here.

How I just wish that I am a computer expert. I mean expert with both computer software and hardware and everything about computer. I came from a very big family. We are all 12 children. Now everybody is grown-up. Our youngest is turning 18 years old on October. I am also married now but no kids yet. I can’t imagine how our Mother took care of us. Problems like baby reflux is not an easy one especially for Mothers who can’t just look at their babies suffering. But my Mother had overcome it all. Mother really knows best for their children. Do you agree with me??

I have a friend who just gave birth last June of this year. Sometimes she is also complaining because even the baby was just fed up, he also keep on crying. I believed, the baby have problems sometimes with GER or the so-called Gastro Esophageal Reflux, or simply “reflux”. My friend is even doing Natural Reflux Remedies like swaddling, rocking the baby, giving him a warm bath or let him listen to some baby lullabies.

This issue covers so well one of the biggest ills of our country.
The human body NEEDS time to stop, hold still, and recover from
all the activity that it’s been up to!

It’s the greed factor that drives us; not only us Americans as
consumers, but as a government as well. It’s time to sit down
and shut up (as my Mother used to so eloquently put it) and take
a priority re-evaluation!

Killing ourselves for that “almighty dollar” just ain’t cutting
it anymore, ’cause all we’re doing is letting it slip back out
of our grubby little fingers into some psycho-analysts’ hands.
Sounds pretty stupid, if ya ask me.

It’s a lose-lose situation. That money would be much better
spent if we’d make less of it and use it instead on taking the
family out on a no-phones, no-TV, no-video game, no-laptop
camping/fishing trip instead.
