Good evening folks! How’s your day today? I hope all went good. I had a fine day today except for some annoying callers. I also did some errands and some are still not cleared. Hubby also called the insurance company for his car because the agent did a mistake for his new car insurance for 2011. We planned to check and change all our insurances next year and find cheap Wholesale Insurance. January 2011 is almost coming and this is the time of the year when most of our insurances are due. There are just a lot of kinds of insurances that we are paying every year and we hope to find cheaper ones next time. For our car insurances, we already found cheaper ones. Hubby is quite happy.

One of the greatest challenges the disciples of Jesus faced was accepting that His mission involved suffering and even death. And to make matters worse, His death was a really horrible one — crucifixion. This challenge is similar for all disciples of Jesus as we embrace the suffering in our lives and that of others as we minister to them. We need to meditate daily on the sufferings of Christ according to Alphonsus Ligouri, the founder of the Redemptorists. Why? So that we will know that suffering is not the end, but a means to an end, which is salvation.
Luke 9:18-22
18 Once when Jesus was praying in solitude, and the disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” 19 They said in reply, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, ‘One of the ancient prophets has arisen.’ ” 20 Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter said in reply, “The Christ of God.” 21 He rebuked them and directed them not to tell this to anyone. 22 He said, “The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised.”
my reflections
think: Suffering is not the end, but a means to an end, which is salvation.

The weekend is almost over again! I am glad and thankful that I had a stress-free and lovely Sunday. I hope you too. What’s the deal for today? It is winter time and I remember a friend telling me that this is the time of the year where she has the most appetite in eating. I was also thinking of Lipofuze because I have the same problem like my friend. Eating too much on winter would also mean gaining more pounds. I can’t imagine how many kilos will I gain more this winter. I felt quite sad everytime I think of it. As long as I am fit and healthy all the time, I guess it is better to take aside all the negative thinking. Good evening everyone!
This is a snapshot I took during our walk this afternoon. I love winter and eating too!..lol!

There is a time for everything under heaven, except sin. However, that time for something in one person’s life does not mean that it is the same for another person. As individuals, each of us must stand before and with God and discern what His will is for our lives. And then we have to learn to trust that that will is the one that will fulfill our being.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-11
1 There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens. 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant. 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to tear down, and a time to build. 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance. 5 A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather them; a time to embrace, and a time to be far from embraces. 6 A time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away. 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to be silent, and a time to speak.8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. 9 What advantage has the worker from his toil? 10 I have considered the task which God has appointed for men to be busied about. 11 He has made everything appropriate to its time, and has put the timeless into their hearts, without men’s ever discovering, from beginning to end, the work which God has done.

Good morning December! I am still wide awake. I really intended to stay awake when the first hour of December comes. I know that a lot of you out there are getting excited for the holiday season. And yes, today is another cold December morning! I heard over the radio last night that the weather is going until negative 11 degree centigrade tonight. Thanks, that at least we are heated in this very cold winter season inside our home.
Are you ready for the holiday? Have you think of nfl t shirts or other presents for this holiday season? I already have some things in my mind as presents. For now, I can’t reveal it because it is a surprise. I also wanted to wish each and everyone a beautiful and memorable December especially in the celebration of Christmas. Take care folks!

Psalm 33:1-2, 4-5, 11-12, 18-19
1 Exult, you just, in the LORD; praise from the upright is fitting. 2 Give thanks to the LORD on the harp; with the ten-stringed lyre chant his praises. 4 For upright is the word of the LORD, and all his works are trustworthy. 5 He loves justice and right; of the kindness of the LORD the earth is full. 11 But the plan of the LORD stands forever; the design of his heart, through all generations. 12 Blessed the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he has chosen for his own inheritance. 18 But see, the eyes of the LORD are upon those who fear him, upon those who hope for his kindness, 19 to deliver them from death and preserve them in spite of famine.

What more can I say other what the author has already said? He is adamant that we all ought to bow our knees and bend our heads to honor the Lord, our God. He is right. The best way we honor the Lord is by living according to His plan and promoting the Gospel with all that we say and do. There is a time for bowing our heads and there is a time to get on with the work of evangelization. Let us seek the right balance of these two things in our spiritual lives.
Ephesians 3:14-21
14 Brothers and sisters: I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that he may grant you in accord with the riches of his glory to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner self, 17 and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the holy ones what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to accomplish far more than all we ask or imagine, by the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Hello folks! The last weekend of November is almost over. It also means that this month will be over soon. I already smell the spirit of Christmas. You know why? I finally lit the first candle of the first Sunday of Advent today. While taking my brunch this morning, I was also listening to some Christmas songs. It was another nice weekend.
Back to my main post. I believed most of you have an idea about the signs of aging. Sometime this month, I found again another white hair on my head. It was already the fourth white hair that I found this year. I also noticed little dark circles on my eyes. Even small warts are growing around my neck. I should not forget to apply the eye wrinkle cream that I am using before I go to sleep. I also want to visit next time my dermatologist to ask some remedy on how to get rid of those warts around my neck. I did not really worry about these signs of aging that I noticed in my body. As long as I am living happily, I believed it is the most important thing of all. Agree folks? Have a nice week ahead!

The hope of Paul for a righteous and holy Philippian community is described very beautifully here. Let us spend a little time reflecting upon all the various attributes that Paul mentions so that we can work on them in our own communities. Let us not be daunted by the task ahead but begin to change one step at a time so that one day in the future, the change will be evident and witness to the power of God at work in our lives.
Philippians 1:1-11
1 Paul and Timothy, slaves of Christ Jesus, to all the holy ones in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: 2 grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 I give thanks to my God at every remembrance of you, 4 praying always with joy in my every prayer for all of you, 5 because of your partnership for the gospel from the first day until now. 6 I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. 7 It is right that I should think this way about all of you, because I hold you in my heart, you who are all partners with me in grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. 8 For God is my witness, how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. 9 And this is my prayer: that your love may increase ever more and more in knowledge and every kind of perception, 10 to discern what is of value, so that you may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.

The first snow for this year has start to fall down last Tuesday in our area. This is a sign that the cold winter is here now. This is also the time of the year where I stay longer under the bedsheets. This is the advantage of being jobless because I can wake-up anytime I want during the day. I am a night owl which means that I always go to bed very late in the night. That is also the reason why I wake-up late already. Unless there are some appointments, I have to wake-up early then. I don’t want to take sleep aid because I don’t really need it. I know somebody who is taking one because she can’t really sleep good at night. Having a very good sleep during the night can be a luxurious relaxing. This is the time when our body is relaxing to the max. Despite being a night owl, I am still thankful that I always have a good sleep. I hope you too! Have a lovely evening!
