Sometimes, we just need to be patience to attend or reach a certain goal, project, wishes or dreams. I am doing the same. Last week, I shared that I am qualified in one of the local jobs posted online. I am so happy about it. Actually, I applied for that job sometime in October 2010. I did received the reply from the Human Resource Office just last week. Imagine that is almost four months of waiting. I just hope and pray that one of these days, I will receive a call that I am selected for the said job position. I am willing to undergo an interview if ever. I believed I can do the job and I will be very happy if I can have it. I am crossing my fingers for it. Good luck to me! lol!

It would be a good thing if every man, woman and child reflected upon one beatitude every day and sought to live it out in their life that day. It certainly would not hurt the world for this to happen. I wonder if we, as individuals, are willing to do this or something similar to this without the guarantee that anyone else will do the same. If so, then I believe that such an individual is well on the way to becoming a saint.
Matthew 5:1-12
1 When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. 2 He began to teach them, saying: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land. 6 Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.”
my reflections:
t h i n k : Sometimes we are simply better off just accepting the way God does things.

Integrity is perhaps one of the least understood aspects of the moral life. Perhaps this is because we seem to be taught from an early age to compartmentalize our lives and thus have developed the capacity to rationalize away our sin with sentiments such as: “It is only a little amount of money I am stealing,” or “I usually do my tax return properly” or “Every one else is doing it” and so on. None of these excuses has even a minute amount of validity. Sin is sin and we need to be strong and honest enough to call it as such.
Zephaniah 2:3; 3:12-13
3 Seek the LORD, all you humble of the earth, who have observed his law; seek justice, seek humility; perhaps you may be sheltered on the day of the LORD’s anger. 3: 12 But I will leave as a remnant in your midst a people humble and lowly, who shall take refuge in the name of the LORD: 13 the remnant of Israel. They shall do no wrong and speak no lies; nor shall there be found in their mouths a deceitful tongue; they shall pasture and couch their flocks with none to disturb them.

Another TGIF is here. It is the last Friday of the month of January and I hope that you are having a wonderful one. Yes, I did! In fact, I am happy today after spending some time with friends in Regensburg. Me and hubby also had a nice and quite romantic walk in the winter wonderland this afternoon. Thanks God for this lovely day!
Back to the main topic, I am also happy that I already have a very functional laptop. One of our two netbooks is also doing good but the screen is too small for me. I also love using it but I prefer my new laptop because it has bigger resolution. I can browse better and faster now in the internet. Uploading and transferring images are also very convenient. I am very contented with my new laptop now. What more can I say? I am simply happy!

Christ is the perfect High Priest as all His offerings are without the blemish of sin. This is why He is capable of bringing salvation to the world through His obedience to the will of the Father. His obedience undoes the disobedience of Adam in which we all participate through Original Sin. It is in and through His self-offering to His Father that Christ redeems us and that we offer ourselves today. Without the sacrifice of Christ, ours would be ineffective.
Hebrews 5:1-10
1 Brothers and sisters: Every high priest is taken from among men and made their representative before God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. 2 He is able to deal patiently with the ignorant and erring, for he himself is beset by weakness 3 and so, for this reason, must make sin offerings for himself as well as for the people. 4 No one takes this honor upon himself but only when called by God, just as Aaron was. 5 In the same way, it was not Christ who glorified himself in becoming high priest, but rather the one who said to him: “You are my son; this day I have begotten you”; 6 just as he says in another place: “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” 7 In the days when he was in the flesh, he offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. 8 Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered; 9 and when he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him, 10 declared by God high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

Good evening guys! It is still snowing outside. It is also very cold. It was negative two degree celsius as we were driving home tonight. We went grocery shopping and hubby had an appointment with the physical therapist. Anyway, I am very glad this morning because I received a letter that says, I am qualified for a job. I keep on praying that I will finally get this job. I did not browse in a healthcare job bank because it is not my field. I almost applied for a practicum in a nearby hospital but I was thinking that Medical or Nursing is not really my field. The job that I am qualified is almost related with my degree since it is an office work. I am really hoping for a positive output of this application. More updates to come about this news.

The Pharisees are too often fixated upon the Law. While the Law is always important, it is not the focus of the spiritual life – love is. We must seek to live the law in love, not in judgment of how others are failing to live it. Our concern must be first for our own righteousness and then we will learn to leave others up to themsleves. We do not know all their situations so how can we judge their actions fairly? Of course, sin is sin – but I do not think that the discipline of fasting falls under this category.
Mark 2:18-22
18 The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were accustomed to fast. People came to him and objected, “Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?” 19 Jesus answered them, “Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast. 20 But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast on that day. 21 No one sews a piece of unshrunken cloth on an old cloak. If he does, its fullness pulls away, the new from the old, and the tear gets worse. 22 Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins are ruined. Rather, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins.”

There are a lot of interpretation about vices. It can be a fault, a defect, an an infirmity, or merely a bad habit. A very concrete example is a vice on smoking. Alcoholism and gambling are also form of vices. I can say that I am very lucky because I am married to a man who has no vices at all.
I know somebody who is married to a guy who smokes around 30 to 40 sticks of cigarretes a day. I want to recommend to her husband this cigar auction site. Anyway, I am just thankful that hubby don’t smoke or drink. He might drink a bottle or two of beer in a month but I guess it is not bad at all. Having vices like smoking and drinking also costs a lot of money. It can also ruin one’s health. We better put the money in a better way. Besides vices like these are not included in our budget. That is also the reason why other people have problems about finances because they have a lot of vices.

We should be on guard against wickedness and evil that spring up in our minds. We must guard our thoughts against all sorts of sin. Most sins, if not all of it, begin with thoughts. If we can keep our minds under the control of the Holy Spirit, we will go a long way towards becoming holy.
Hebrews 3:7-14
7 The Holy Spirit says: “Oh, that today you would hear his voice, 8 “Harden not your hearts as at the rebellion in the day of testing in the desert, 9 where your ancestors tested and tried me and saw my works 10 for forty years. Because of this I was provoked with that generation and I said, “They have always been of erring heart, and they do not know my ways.” 11 As I swore in my wrath, “They shall not enter into my rest.” ’ ” 12 Take care, brothers, that none of you may have an evil and unfaithful heart, so as to forsake the living God. 13 Encourage yourselves daily while it is still “today,” so that none of you may grow hardened by the deceit of sin. 14 We have become partners of Christ if only we hold the beginning of the reality firm until the end.

Good evening everyone! Thanks goodness that my lappy is working good again. I don’t know what happened some minutes ago that it was processing very slow. I just restarted it and now it is striking again. While waiting for my laptop to restart, I was looking at my bookshelves and found a cookbook with Low-Carb recipes. I really wanted to lose excess pounds but sometimes it is just hard for me because I love to cook and to eat. I was thinking of taking diet pills that work but I want to consult first the experts. I know some people who are taking it and for some it is quite effective. Since I already found my low-carb recipes cookbook, I wanted to prepare such kind of food. It might help me and hubby to get rid of excess fat and weight.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend out there. I am thankful that we had quite a good one.
