Moving Furniture

We will be moving some furniture again. I am finally done emptying our two old closets. I can’t imagine that I still have a lot of unused stuffs in these closets. We bought a four-door closet which is almost the same size when these two old ones are combined. The next one I have to find are Delta faucets which might be needed when we will be renovating our bathroom. There are just a lot of projects this year and I hope that we can finish everything. Out kitchen also need a full make-up. Hopefully, we can do it next year. We wanted to build first a two-car garage and a terrace starting spring season. I am quite excited if our terrace will be built soon. I have more rooms for my flowers and other stuffs. Partying during rainy days is also not a problem anymore.

I hope you had a wonderful day today. I wish you too a lovely and memorable weekend.

Gospel Reading- Mark 10:32-45

Self-promotion may be an important means of moving ahead in the world but it is anathema in the Kingdom of God. The heart of the life of a disciple of Jesus is humility. Until we are able to lose our self-interest, it is not possible to progress in holiness. It is no mistake that this teaching of Jesus immediately follows one of the predictions of His Passion. It is in His Passion that we see the depth of the humility of Jesus, His willingness to embrace even death on a cross, and thus we learn humility’s central role in the life of discipleship and obedience to the will of God.

Mark 10:32-45

32 The disciples were on the way, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus went ahead of them. They were amazed, and those who followed were afraid. Taking the Twelve aside again, he began to tell them what was going to happen to him. 33 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and hand him over to the Gentiles 34 who will mock him, spit upon him, scourge him, and put him to death, but after three days he will rise.” 35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said to him, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.” 36 He replied, “What do you wish me to do for you?” 37 They answered him, “Grant that in your glory we may sit one at your right and the other at your left.” 38 Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I drink or be baptized with the baptism with which I am
baptized?” 39 They said to him, “We can.” Jesus said to them, “The cup that I drink, you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized; 40 but to sit at my right or at my left is not mine to give but is for those for whom it has been prepared.” 41 When the ten heard this, they became indignant at James and John. 42 Jesus summoned them and said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones make their authority over them felt. 43 But it shall not be so among you. Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant; 44 whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all. 45 For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

my reflections

t h i n k : W e need to learn to entrust our needs to the Lord and so give Him the opportunity to demonstrate His eternal faithfulness to us.

Grateful

Hello folks! It seems that we are stepping on the first weekend of March now. Time truly passed-by so fast. I have a lot of things to be grateful from the past months. First of all, I am very thankful because my father got off from the hospital. Second, I am thankful that hubby is back to his work after having an accident. I am also always grateful for all the blessings and graces that God has showered to me and my family. I am also thankful for all the trials and temptations that comes my way and keep on praying to overcome all of it. I am also very thankful for giving me a very wonderful and kind husband. I should give him some nice ties as presents. Thanks also to good friends who are always there in times of good and bad times. I am most of all very thankful to God for giving me this life. Lastly, I am so sorry for all the flaws, shortcomings and bad things I have done. Yes, I admit that I am not perfect but I always try my best to be one.

Happy weekend everyone!

Inspiring Message-Sirach 17:1-15

One of the key ways in which humanity reflects the image of God is in our capacity to choose well. We are the only moral beings in Creation. Our capacity to reflect upon the meaning of life is what sets us apart from the rest of the animal kingdom. Let us be sure to put this capacity to good use. Socrates reminds us that “the unreflected life is not worth living!” This is very true and yet it seems the majority of the world spends very little time reflecting upon the meaning of life.

Sirach 17:1-15

1 God from the earth created man, and in his own image he made him. 2 Limited days of life he gives him and makes him return to earth again. 3 He endows man with a strength of his own, and with power over all things else on earth. 4 He puts the fear of him in all flesh, and gives him rule over beasts and birds. 5 He forms men’s tongues and eyes and ears, and imparts to them an understanding heart. 6 With wisdom and knowledge he fills them; good and evil he shows them. 7 He looks with favor upon their hearts, and shows them his glorious works, 8 that they may describe the wonders of his deeds and praise his holy name. 9 He has set before them knowledge, a law of life as their inheritance; 10 an everlasting covenant he has made with them, his commandments he has revealed to them. 11 His majestic glory their eyes beheld, his glorious voice their ears heard. 12 He says to them, “Avoid all evil”; each of them he gives precepts about his fellow men. 13 Their ways are ever known to him, they cannot be hidden from his eyes. 14 Over every nation he places a ruler, but the LORD’s own portion is Israel. 15 All their actions are clear as the sun to him, his eyes are ever upon their ways.

Good Investment

I will be talking about accounting terms this time especially about investment. What is actually an investment? Do you think buying a car, prada or gucci bag, an Iphone or a DKNY leather shoes a good form of investment? When we say investment, it means that we are putting money into something where we are expecting for a profit or return. I would say, if you buy a new car and already drove it for some kilometers, its value is depreciating. This simply means that it is not really a good form of investment just like the others that I mentioned above.

What is really a good investment during the economic crisis that is happening around the world now? I believed investing on gold is one of the best way to invest your money. You can also buy silver coins. These valuable metals are always appreciating in terms of value. Buying for example parcel of lands can also be a good form of investment. Investing in bonds, securities and term insurances are also good but not all the time secure. I wish to elaborate more on this but maybe in my future post. I should finish post last night but I got busy on some things. Enjoy the rest of your last weekend of February.

JUST A STOPOVER

This is a very inspiring story in relation to the previous Bible messages . I can’t afford to delete this in my inbox without sharing it to all of you. Thanks especially to Fr. Bobby Titco
for this very inspiring sharing.

JUST A STOPOVER

Life is often seen as a journey where the road is not always smooth and straight. There are rough and bending paths, marked with detours and even U-turns. We sail seas and swim rivers, enter tunnels and explore forests. But there is nothing more overwhelming than the mountains in our life.

No one can ignore a mountain. By its very nature, a mountain is imposing. We can cross or go aroundit. We can conquer it or it can conquer us. Conquering a mountain means climbing it. Cursing it means being conquered by it.

Jesus climbs a mountain today. He does not take the longer but easier way by going around it; He makes the difficult choice of scaling it. Jesus does not allow His mountain to conquer Him; He conquers it instead. Mountains are not only peaks along our way; they can also be crossroads. Every crossroad is a moment of crisis. Depending on how we respond to it, a crisis may mean grace or disgrace, blessing or chastisement, a bend or a block, a beginning or an end. The same is true with our mountains in life.

Today, on top of a mountain, we hear a voice from a cloud, saying, “This is My Son, the Beloved. Listen to Him.” We hear the voice and the voice wants us to listen. Let us give in to it. Let us listen to Jesus, the Word of that voice.

By climbing His mountain, Jesus tells us that we should climb ours. After climbing His mountain, Jesus goes down from it. Mountains are not meant to be anyone’s permanent address. The breathtaking view from the top of a mountain can be tempting for anyone to pitch his tent there and forget that he is just passing by as he makes his journey called “life.” Jesus shows us that reaching the top of our mountains is not yet conquering them. Going down from them is. For a mountain is worth climbing only if it is possible to go down from it.

Today, we make a stopover on top of a mountain. We listen. Then, we go down to move on. Fr. Bobby Titco

Reflection Question:
What do I do with my “mountains”?

Climb with me, O Jesus, the mountains in my life. Let me hear over and over again the voice of the Father, affirming me that I, too, am His child. Embrace me with Your holy radiance that I may be strengthened to move on in my journey of discipleship. And when my life is done, take my hand and bring me to Your holy mountain. Amen.

St. Odran, pray for us.

Good News

Good evening folks! It is almost midnight again. I have an hour or two left before signing-off. I just want to share a good news for now. We received a call yesterday and the caller said that she is pregnant. How I wish I am too but I’m still not. Hubby told her that she needs to stop smoking and also to take prenatal vitamins to keep her baby healthy. I was also kidding hubby that I must get pregnant too. The question is when and how? I hope there will be a miracle that will happen in the future for me to get pregnant. Somebody told me today that a woman only feels complete when she becomes a mother. I believed it is true. Congratulations to Dani for being pregnant! I am so happy for you.

Gospel Inspiration- Mark 9:2-13

Quite often when I read the name Elijah in the Scriptures, what comes to my mind is the epitome of a man of the Spirit. Elijah in person was a man led by the Spirit of God who encountered many very difficult situations and overcame them through his faith and trust in God. Let us be so inspired to place our lives in the hands of God and thus allow Him to work in and through us to overcome our difficulties.

Mark 9:2-13

2 Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, 3 and his clothes became dazzling white, such as no fuller on earth could bleach them. 4 Then Elijah appeared to them along with Moses, and they were conversing with Jesus. 5 Then Peter said to Jesus in reply, “Rabbi, it is good that we are here! Let us make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” 6 He hardly knew what to say, they were so terrified. 7 Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them; then from the cloud came a voice, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.” 8 Suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone but Jesus alone with them. 9 As they were coming down from the mountain, he charged them not to relate what they had seen to anyone, except when the Son of Man had risen from the dead. 10 So they kept the matter to themselves, questioning what rising from the dead meant. 11 Then they asked him, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” 12 He told them, “Elijah will indeed come first and restore all things, yet how is it written regarding the Son of Man that he must suffer greatly and be treated with contempt? 13 But I tell you that Elijah has come and they did to him whatever they pleased, as it is written of him.”

One Wish

I am happy to clean a bit the house. It is not really the whole house but some parts of it. A day of cleaning all the mess is not enough. I hope to finish everything before the end of the week. After cleaning this morning, I cooked some food. I prepared beef with broccoli and carrots. It was quite a good lunch for me. I partnered it with rice. I wish to find dout more about natural appetite suppressants that work. You know why? I always have problems everytime I see food. I can’t say no to eating especially when sumptuous foods are on the table. A friend had a suggestion for me last time. She said that she is taking a kind of coffee that losses her appetite for eating. If I want some, she can give me for testing. I will see if it works for me. I also have one wish. I wish to loss extra pounds. I hope I can have more discipline in my eating habit. Enjoy the sunny day peeps!

Inspiring Message About Faith- Hebrews 11:1-7

Faith is one of the foundation stones of the life of a disciple of Jesus. Today’s reading lists a number of men of faith and sets them before us as examples to imitate. Let us make a commitment to get to know the saints of the Church. Let us seek to discover more about them so that we can be inspired by their lives and strengthened through their intercession as we call upon them for help!

Hebrews 11:1-7

1 Brothers and sisters: Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen. 2 Because of it the ancients were well attested. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was ordered by the word of God, so that what is visible came into being through the invisible. 4 By faith Abel offered to God a sacrifice greater than Cain’s. Through this he was attested to be righteous, God bearing witness to his gifts, and through this, though dead, he still speaks. 5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and “he was found no more because God had taken him.” Before he was taken up, he was attested to have pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him, for anyone who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. 7 By faith Noah, warned about what was not yet seen, with reverence built an ark for the salvation of his household. Through this he condemned the world and inherited the righteousness that comes through faith.
