Words To Inspire

Hello everyone! It seems that I was away here for sometime. Life is just so busy sometimes. I am gladly back now and would like to share  these very inspiring words. I got this from my friend’s wall in facebook. Thanks   Mel for sharing it.

I hope you are all having a wonderful November since it is about to end. God bless!

“Don’t let aberrations, distractions and frustrations upset your day.
Hey, we’re not perfect.
the best laid out plans can sometimes go awry.
And many times expectations from others just fall short
or simply are not realized.
Remember, one of the secrets of happiness is expect less from others and more from yourself.
Expect less and be disappointed less;
expect more and be disappointed more.
Be short in promises and long on deliveries.
That way you make other people happy.”

Top 3 Ancient Underground Cities and Temples

Considering all the scientific and archaeological finds pointing to our ancestors living in crafted stone huts and caves, is it really surprising to discover numerous underground tunnels which are attached to living quarters, or connected to ancient monuments?

In the region of Cappadocia, Turkey, there are an astounding 36 subterranean cities – all of them completely self-sufficient, with plenty of air-shafts and underground wells, with numerous ones linked to each other by tunnel networks.  Where else in the world can you find tunnels and underground cities? Keep reading to find out:

  1. Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum, Malta

It is the only known prehistoric underground city, and is believed to have been created around 4,000 BC. Since its discovery and subsequent opening to the public in 1902, only 80 people per day are allowed into the sanctuary-turned-necropolis, to prevent degradation of the structure. It is a man-made structure which was created from natural caves that were extended; as with many ancient structures, there is one room that emits a powerful acoustic resonance when spoken words or music is played within it. Several temples in South America share this characteristic, such as Chichen Itza at the Temple of Kukulcan – here, if you clap your hands the sound which reverberates back is like the chirp of a native Quetzal bird. A relatively new field, archaeoacoustics, studies these kinds of phenomena, and the impact they have on the human brain.

  1. Kish Qanat, Kariz,Iran

Discovered under layers of land, the ancient city and aqueducts of Kish are believed to have been created 5,000 years ago, and are one of the best examples of ancient technology. It is similar to structures that the Persians invented, which brought underground water to the surface of arid areas.  Currently, there are plans to turn this ancient wonder into a modern underground city, complete with shopping malls, housing, and entertainment areas. Visitors which come to Kish can marvel at one of the only structures in the world to have a natural coral ceiling.

  1. Tikal, Guatemala, South America

Below the Mayan temple of Tikal in the Yucatan Peninsula, is an underground complex that criss-crosses below the jungle floor, and almost reaches the other side of the continent.  These tunnels may explain the escape of Incans and Mayan from the Spanish Conquistadors who decimated the indigenous cultural beliefs and their civilizations, in an attempt to ‘Catholicize’ them. Below the temples of the sun and the moon in Teotihuacan, Mexico archaeologists have discovered a recreation of the Mayan underworld, along with seven bodies of presumed rulers.

A Fabled City and tantalising clues

City of the Gods, Giza, Egypt

Though Egyptian authorities deny its existence, there is believed to be an underground “City of the Gods” below the Giza Plateau in Egypt, with a possible entrance in the sphinx. In fact, Dr. Zahi Hawass documented the tunnels entrance 14th of April, 1996 only to refute their existence several years later. The neighbouring Tomb of Osiris, a burial chamber cut into limestone rock just outside of Cairo, has several tunnels within it, that as of yet are unexplored due to the high mud content.

Ideas for a holiday in Cyprus

Welcome to the year-round island Cyprus! There’s always a new world to discover on this island, here are some ideas for those who are planning a Cyprus vacation …….

Music has strong roots in Cyprus one of the most popular musical instruments is the bouzouki playing the traditional style of music Rebetika. In addition to this Cypriots love the sound of their own voices so you will often hear them singing.

The capital is Nicosia located in the middle of the island and therefore easily accessible. The city is divided into two parts. There is the unique architecture and preserved fortifications in the Turkish part and gothic sanctuaries converted into mosques in the southern part along with the cathedral. The city is also home to the national Architecture Museum.

Located in the northeast of the island is Famagusta the setting of the Shakespeare tragedy Othello. It is enclosed by city walls. The most visited attraction here is the Citadel.

Larnaca Salt Lake home to thousands of flamingos constitutes of a system of salt lakes, adjacent to Larnaca and its airport. Together they have a surface area of about 5 square kilometres. Besides its picturesque beauty the lake is home to 85 species of water-birds. Thousands of flamingos and a plethora of other bird species visit to escape the cold and spend the winter here making it a great bird watching spot.

The largest port on the island is Limassol it is also the biggest Cypriot port in the Mediterranean transit trade. It has become one of the most important tourism, trade and service-providing centres in the area. A wide spectrum of activities and a number of museums and archaeological sites are offered to the interested visitor. Consequently, Limassol attracts a wide range of tourists mostly during an extended summer season to be accommodated in a wide range of hotels and apartments. Limassol’s skyline has left behind very little historical evidence to give way to a cosmopolitan appearance. However, the protected ancient monuments hand over a rich trail of artefacts and mythical stories. Limassol Castle, Amathus Ruins and Mosque of Djami Kebir are a few of the beautiful sights worth visiting. A large marina is currently being constructed near the old town.

About 25 kilometres on dirt roads from Paphos you will find Lara Beach where turtles nest each year. This extensive and often near-deserted sandy beach is one of the few remaining havens for loggerhead and green turtles to nest. Monk seals also dwell in the sea caves around the peninsula! It takes a four-wheel drive, some determination and a tolerance of pot holes. But is a worth a visit from those who are adventurous and keen to get away from the bustle and the parasols.

Home Improvement Still Going On

What do you expect when you are undergoing home repair and improvement? Or maybe you are undergoing an office refurnishing or renovating anything inside your building. In times like these, for sure our  house or  office is dusty, dirty and full of mess. But you need to be thankful if you are doing it because time will come when everything is done, you will have a nice, cozy and beautiful place to work or stay.

We are currently undergoing some  home repair and improvement. At the moment, our bathroom is under renovation. It was actually a total renovation. When I say total, I mean all the old walls were dismantled, the bathtub and all the bathroom  furniture  were thrown away. We already bought a new bathroom set and I can’t wait to have it inside our new renovated bathroom.

Bathroom renovation update as of now:  The putting of tiles around the bathroom is still going on. I hope it will all be done before the end of the week. Yesterday, we went to the hardware store to buy more materials needed for it. We also tried to look for a bathroom sink. The bathtub is already installed but not yet connected to the water pipes. It is a new bathtub now because we already disregard the old one, besides I don’t like the yellow colour of the old one.

Sometimes building and planning for your home or office is quite difficult. If you have to do it yourself and you don’t have any idea on how to do it, you might be wasting time and money. This is the time when we need to consult the experts or professionals in doing a certain job like home renovation. Second, we have to consider our budget. I believed this is the most important part of building and planning. If we don’t have any budget for it, then no home renovation or improvement will take place.

This is also the same if we are planning to buy a new home. We need to consult the experts like realty companies  who can help us to find  a  house  that fits our needs and budget. Opportunity Realty Mackay for example is one of them.

There are still a lot of things to be repaired and to be improved in our home. We are just happy that we are already starting it. This might take some years before everything is renovated. What is important,  the project  is still going on. Time will come when everything will be done, we will surely have a small but beautiful and comfortable place to  live.

These Very Inspiring Story

I  just read this in my friend’s wall in facebook. It was truly a very inspiring one..Keep reading!

Thanks to the author of this one..This is rey<lla wonderful!

“One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company. He passed the first interview, the director did the last interview, made the last decision. The director discovered from the CV that the youth’s academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research, never had a year when he did not score. The director asked, “Did you obtain any scholarships in school?” the youth answered “none”.

The director asked, ” Was it your father who paid for your school fees?” The youth answered, “My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees. The director asked, ” Where did your mother work?” The youth answered, “My mother worked as clothes cleaner. The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.

The director asked, ” Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?” The youth answered, “Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.

The director said, “I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother’s hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.

The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to the kid.

The youth cleaned his mother’s hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother’s hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water.

This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother’s hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence and his future.

After finishing the cleaning of his mother hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.

That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director’s office.

The Director noticed the tears in the youth’s eyes, asked: “Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?”

The youth answered,” I cleaned my mother’s hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes’

The Director asked,”please tell me your feelings.”

The youth said, Number 1, I know now what is appreciation. Without my mother, there would not the successful me today. Number 2, by working together and helping my mother, only I now realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done. Number 3, I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationship.

The director said, “This is what I am looking for to be my manager. I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. You are hired.

Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and as a team. The company’s performance improved tremendously.

A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wanted, would develop “entitlement mentality” and would always put himself first. He would be ignorant of his parent’s efforts. When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others. For this kind of people, who may be good academically, may be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel sense of achievement. He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying the kid instead?

You can let your kid live in a big house, eat a good meal, learn piano, watch a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let them experience it. After a meal, let them wash their plates and bowls together with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love them in a right way. You want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow gray, same as the mother of that young person. The most important thing is your kid learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get things done.

Prayer for the Philippines

Let’s all pray together for the rain to stop and the  severe flooding in the Philippines to take control.  God bless Philippines! We also pray for the peace and order in the whole country..

“Almighty and loving, creator of the universe,
we fervently ask your Divine and Infinite Mercy
to take control of the rain and typhoon.
We put our trust in your power.
we implore you to embrace our country.
Calm the weather as you did
with your disciples at the middle of the sea.
IN JESUS’S MIGHTY NAME WE PRAY. Amen”

Pet Lover

I have a lot of friends who love animals. Some of them have pets in their homes. I know a friend who bought a very nice bed for pet. She has a dog and she really considered her pet as her baby. Such a lucky dog. I can say,  she is truly a pet lover.

I love animals too and would love to have some pets at home. Sad to say, we just live in our small stone house and have no room for animals. In my home country, I have a lot of dogs. This is the advantage of having a tropical weather because they can just stay outside in our patio.

I wish to go home next year to see my pets once again! Happy weekend folks! Take care!
