Envy and True Happiness
Are you envy with someone? Envy (also called invidiousness) is best defined as an emotion that “occurs when a person lacks another’s (perceived) superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it.” This is the meaning provided by wikipedia. Don’t you know that envy is one of the causes of unhappiness and insecurity? It is also not good when an envious person wishes to inflict misfortune on others. I had the same experience when someone due to her envy to me was telling heresies and false stories over me. There is really nothing to be envied about me. I am not rich, nor famous and I only live a very simple but quite happy life. It is sometimes painful when a friend you trusted will be the one who will put you down. It gave me some lessons and I learned from it.
For us to be happy, we need to be contented and satisfied of what we have.
This is a very nice quote posted by a friend in FB. I also want to share it to everyone.
“I’m past being envious with anyone anymore…coz i know that if they have more, they paid more….some paid with money…some paid with hard work…some paid with their honor and dignity…some paid more than what they bargained for…“
